Niku Shahrokhi (she/her) is a recent graduate from UC San Diego with a BA in Political Science – International Relations. Her academic and professional interests focus on global justice, human rights, conflict resolution, comparative politics, and legal institutions, as well as the structural inequalities shaping international security and governance. Her work examines the intersections of international relations, transnational crime, and systemic reform, with an emphasis on how policy, research, and advocacy can address modern global challenges. She is particularly interested in issues of corruption, human rights violations, and security threats that transcend borders. Her research background includes comparative politics, global security threats, anti-corruption efforts, and the role of international organizations in advancing accountability and institutional reform. She also has experience in data analysis and political inquiry, applying quantitative and qualitative methods to examine systemic inequality and policy effectiveness. She aims to contribute to initiatives that promote equity, transparency, and justice in both domestic and international contexts. She is excited to contribute to research initiatives that explore how identity formation, equity, and community engagement can shape more inclusive and justice-oriented approaches to STEM education and research.
