Who are We

Justice, Equity, and Transdisciplinary (JET) Computing Lab is a transdisciplinary lab and collective, based in the Department of Ethnic Studies at UC San Diego and led by Dr. Holly Okonkwo. JET Computing is a home for critical, transdisciplinary, experimental, creative research on the poetics and politics of computing, design and technology.


Our Mission

We are a community of scholars committed to providing critical analyses, developing interventions, and sharpening strategies that confront inequality to democratize science and technology for all. As scholars, we are committed to anticolonial, feminist, Indigenous, queer, environmental, anti-racist and justice-focused approaches to computing and technical design. We integrate critical humanistic, social scientific, and sociotechnical methodologies to address contemporary local, national, and global issues.
